WELCOME TO CRONOMAR

2019 STARTED WITH NEW CONTRACTS AND FURTHER INCREASE OF EXPORT

In the first days of the new year, new contracts have been signed for a couple of more work boats that Croatian partners will produce for a Norwegian client. To be more concrete  shipyard NCP from Šibenik has signed new contracts for several vessels whose delivery should be by the end of the summer of 2019. With the new contracts, this Croatian company will achieve an impressive result of total of 100 ordered vessels for the world aquaculture market in the last ten years. Vessels are used in everyday operations of the fish farm, and are adapted to the harsh weather conditions as well as the requirements of customers. Regardless of the type of the vessel and its purpose, each is specific and is done according to the requirements of the end customer. This successful project of production of working boats started in 2010, continued with the contracting of building new types of vessels, both with the local shipbuilder in Sibenik, Pula, Kaštela and Šibenik/Murter. From the beginning of the export of vessels to Norwegian customers including 2018, a record number of 91 svessels have been delivered NCP-Šibenik, 8 from Pula Tehnomont 11 from Kaštela and 1 from Šibenik/Murter. So far, all the exported ships from HR to clients in foreign markets of mariculture amount to over 100m EUR.

At the moment, at šibenik shipyard 9 more vessels have been subcontracted whose delivery is expected by the end of summer 2019. These are several different types of ships, both in size and in terms of their technical characteristics. Other companies will also deliver a significant number of vessels for this sector  in 2019, including a new vessel model whose development is a direct response to market needs. Contracted jobs are proof that companies from the Croatian small shipbuilding sector achieve top results in a demanding global market.

The significance of this project lies in the fact that the quality of Croatian shipbuilders is successfully presented both in Norway and other markets around the world. The whole project has started through mediation of CroNoMar, a Croatian company in norwegian ownership whose goal is to connect and realize business co-operation between Norwegian and Croatian companies, enabling Croatian companies access to the new markets and customers.  The products of Croatian small shipbuilding, which are successfully exported from 2010 are catamarans of 13,50-15,10 m long, mono hull vessels of 10,50 m, service vessels of 21,00-24,99 m  and hybrid vessels - with combination of electric drive. It is precisely the excellent results of business cooperation that led to the development of many years of successful cooperation with Norwegian partners, which continues through contracting new business for this demanding market as well as for other world markets. A significant step forward  has been made in the summer of 2018 when the first catamaran was delivered to the Canadian market from NCP. Customer satisfaction has resulted in new orders for different models of vessels according to their needs.

The fact is also the great satisfaction for all participants in the project that the vessels built in Croatian shipyards have achieved international recognition and competitiveness at the big world market. This project is an excellent example of successful business cooperation between Croatian and Norwegian partners, representing the quality and competitiveness of small Croatian shipbuilding in one of the most developed shipbuilding countries in the world - in Norway as well as in other countries around the world.

New deliveries from Croatia are planned for the first quarter of 2019. Croatian and foreign partners do not hide their satisfaction with the development of co-operation. The first business contacts opened the way to success and the impressive results of Croatian exporters in the small shipbuilding sector. CroNoMar's activities are aimed to identifying the business opportunities of Croatian companies in themaritine sector and their realization through active support for each project creating a „value chain“ – the model of the value chain from idea to commercialization, which enables companies to directly access the world market.
