At the NCP Repair Shipyard, on 4th September 2013 the new contracts for building catamarans for Norwegian company MOEN MARIN AS have been signed.

The contracted work is a great recognition to Nautical center Prgin considering that it is a matter of an order for the 21st and 22 boat that Nautical Center will produce and whose delivery is planned for late February 2014. Until the start of cooperation with the NCP, the  working boats of this type were produced exclusively in China and Norway. As it turned out, at the beginning of 2010, a long-term successful cooperation between the Croatian and Norwegian partner has started.

The great importance of this Contract for Croatian partners lies in the fact that with it the door for the Norwegian market have been opened to the NCP Repair Shipyard and also enabled presentation of quality, competitiveness and professionalism of Croatian shipbuilders in the country which is one of the richest countries in the world, where fishing and shipbuilding, after oil and gas  are the two most common industries in the growth of the national GDP.

From the very beginning of the project in 2010, the intention of the partners was to establish a long-term cooperation that would be realized through the successful integration of serial production model in the existing manufacturing process of Croatian shipbuilders; for the construction of the first boat the NCP has used 10 months, but with further development of the project and by implementation of the serial model production, this period has been reduced to 5 months. Ten working boats have been delivered since the beginning of the project until January 2013, while the same number of boats will be delivered in 2013.

The boats are aluminum catamarans of 13 and 15 meters, used for work on fish farms and characterized by a large working area equipped with modern equipment and 32t / m crane. The main purpose of this boat is to supply and maintain the fish farm and per today, fish farming is also one of the fastest growing industries in Norway. Presently, Norway is exporting 3.5 million tons of fish per a year, counting a significant increase in the number of fish farms which are often located far away from the coast, so the boats supplying them are often exposed to unfavorable weather conditions. Because of that, the quality of working boats is of utmost importance and chance in this Norwegian market expansion a local company, the NCP Repair Shipyard has found; the very first working boat delivered has still today successfully performing everyday tasks in Norway.

The very success of the project has been confirmed by the statistics from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs on the economic and bilateral relations between Croatia and the Kingdom of Norway: " With a modest recovery of Croatian and thanks to status of Norwegian economy in 2011, but especially because of the signing of business contracts in the field of shipbuilding following the contacts established through iNavis center and by the realization of these businesses, meaning because of the delivery of a large number of boats to Norwegian clients from Croatian shipyard - NCP Repair Shipyard and others - there was a significant jump in the increase of Croatian exports for 621 percent and thus also increase of the total trade exchange for nearly 200 percent, and especially important - very high trade surplus with Norway in amount of 103.74 million euros has been created.

The confirmation of the quality NCP Shipyard has obtained not only by the fact that the Norwegian partner is very satisfied with the product but also with the fact that one of the boats was sold to the Middle East, after which the client because of his satisfaction with the delivered boat, has ordered two more same boats.

For the first time since very the beginning of the project with the NCP until today, three working boats have been ready for delivery out of which two of which two are going to the Middle East and one to Norway.Additionally, this project has added value since it provides a safe and permanent employment for some 30-40 workers at the NCP but also additional employment in a wide range of cooperative companies that are together with the NCP working on this project.

Cooperation between NCP and the Norwegian company Moen Marin AS has been established thanks to company CroNoMar based in Sibenik. This is a company which was established in 2009 with the aim to actively participate in identifying and creating new business opportunities, products, services and business models in the Maritime field through projects in cooperation with Norwegian and Croatian partners. A young team led by Malvin Villabo has an excellent progress providing assistance to the partners in daily implementation of the project at all levels.

Moen Marin AS is a brokerage company that is engaged in the production, purchase and sale of boats for its customers from around the world.
