For Tuesday, February 24 2015, the delivery of 2 new working boats built in NCP Repair Shipyard, Sibenik for the Norwegian company MOEN MARIN AS has been agreed.

We are talking about the aluminium catamarans that already for five years are produced at NCP. One of the boats id going to Norway, while other goes to the Shetland Islands.

This successful project of serial production of working boats for Norwegian and other international fish farms began in 2010 and has so far delivered a total of 32 working boats. From the very beginning of project the partner’s intention was to establish long-term cooperation through the successful integration of serial model into an existing production process of the shipyard.

Just as a remainder, these are working boats - aluminum catamaran of 13.5 m length which are used for everyday activities on fish farms. Boats of this type have high quality, which makes them very functional due to the non-favourable weather conditions in which they work - fish farms are often located far from the coast and exposed to unfavourable and harsh weather conditions.

It took 10 months to build the first working boat, while with further development of the project that period has been reduced to only 5.5 months from ordering until delivery. The result of that was the production and export of 12 working vessels in 2014.

These catamarans with each new contract are confirming their quality and competitiveness at the market as recognizable Croatian export product.

The whole project started through mediation of CroNoMar, a Croatian innovative company in Norwegian ownership which has been operating successfully in Croatia, and also as manager of the innovation incubator of Maritime Innovation Center - iNavis, whose aim is to connect the Norwegian and Croatian companies within the Maritime and Marine sector and realization of joint projects.
