New contracts between Norwegian client and Sibenik repair shipyard NCP
ŠIBENSKI PRODUCT BOOSTS trade exchange between Croatia and Norway
Through mediation of CroNoMar an innovative company established in 2009 with the aim of identifying and creating new business opportunities through joint projects with Norwegian and Croatian partners, repair shipyard NCP has continued successful cooperation with Norwegian partners. At the end of 2014, a one-year negotiation process has been finalized and the contract for the production of a new model of working vessel for the Norwegian aquaculture market has been signed. It is again one type of aluminium catamaran, but this time bigger in size than the model which NCP has successful produced already for 4 years in a row.
It is the first vessel of this type that is subcontracted in Croatia and so far only 15 vessels of this type have been built in the world and all of them in China. These catamarans are 15 m long and 10 m wide, equipped with more powerful hydraulic components and stronger main engines, in total bigger value than the previous contracted vessels. The financial value is not the only importance of this project. Thanks to the conclusion of the mentioned business contracts in the field of shipbuilding, and following the contacts established through CroNoMar and iNavis centre between NCP and Norwegian partners, a significant increase in Croatian exports and also the trade exchange between Croatia and Kingdom of Norway in 2014 has been achieved. It is a fact and a great pleasure that vessels built at NCP in Sibenik are obtaining their recognition and competitiveness at the large global market. This project is an excellent example of a successful business cooperation between Croatian and Norwegian partners representing the quality and competitiveness of the Croatian shipbuilding industry in one of the most advanced shipbuilding nations in the world - in Norway.
CroNoMar intention is to present this vessel as part of the economic mission organized through program of Poduzetnički impuls 2014 measure C3B "Business internationalization", as the new Croatian product on the international aquaculture and fisheries trade fair "Aquanor", in August 2015 in Trondheim, Norway. A presentation of Croatian companies, products and services, and the possibilities that foreign companies have within the marine and maritime sector in Croatia will be organized as part of the economic mission. The economic mission focuses on internationalization of business of Croatian companies, strengthening of export potential and competitiveness of SMEs, particularly in the area of new products and innovative technologies.
Business of CroNoMar is directed towards identifying business opportunities of Croatian companies in the marine and maritime sector and their implementation through the active support creating a "value chain" from idea to commercialization, providing companies direct access to the global market.
