WELCOME TO CRONOMAR
Saturday 2 February 2019 | 08:22:36 | Published in News

The plan was to deliver 15 catamarans, and the contract for delivery of the 100th catamaran from the Šibenik shipyard NCP has just been signed!

It all began in 2009 with negotiations between potential Norwegian clients and several Croatian shipyards, which took place following the establishment of Croatian-Norwegian cooperation within the maritime sector based on the founding of the Maritime Innovation Center - iNavis in Sibenik and the beginning of the work of company CroNoMar. The optimistic idea to build 15 catamarans at NCP for foreign markets in the five-year period appeared then a realistic goal that gives hope for the survival of small shipbuilding in Croatia.

Now, after the ten-year period is behind us, in August 2019 a 100th catamaran produced at the NCP Shipyard in Sibenik will be officially delivered to Norway. From the initial idea, this business cooperation related to the production of aluminium catamarans used as working boats in the Norwegian aquaculture sector has developed considerably faster than all expectations.

CroNoMar, a small company from Sibenik in Norwegian ownership has set up the strategic goal of conducting business by connecting Croatian and Norwegian companies and partners within the maritime sector. The first results were visible already in 2010, when the first shipbuilding contract was signed for the delivery of the first aluminium catamaran with the shipyard from Šibenik - NCP.

Believing from the very beginning in the success, CroNoMar has worked intensively over the past years to join Croatian, Norwegian and other foreign customers, primarily promoting Croatian top quality products, innovativity and competitiveness of companies in this sector in Croatia.

Independent of the type of vessel and its purpose, each new vessel-product is specific and is tailored made according to the requirements of the end customer, a result of which is also an intensive negotiation of businesses related to the vessel construction. So far, CroNoMar has been involved in contracting over 120 shipbuilding contracts referring to the work boats, based on which an impressive figure of more than 100 contracted catamarans from NCP for Norwegian and other world aquaculture markets over the last ten years.

All vessels built in Croatia are used in the aquaculture and fisheries sector and the vessels built in Sibenik are used in daily operations on fish farms around the world.

Thanks to the achieved product quality and competitiveness compared to other manufacturers, further planning and contracting of new models and types of vessels was enabled.

In addition to Sibenik, hrough mediation of CroNoMar vessels for international fishery and aquaculture sector are built at Tehnomont in Pula, Oštro in Kastela, and Intelligent Marine Sollution from Sibenik.

Neither Croatian nor foreign partners are hiding their satisfaction with the development of cooperation. New types of vessels, upgraded models of already built vessels, new contracts mean not only revenue growth and earnings, but also new employment of the most diverse profiles of workers in Croatian shipbuilding and engineering.
