DUGOGODIŠNJA USPJEŠNA SURADNJA S TVRTKOM NCP IZ ŠIBENIKA NASTAVLJA SE PODUGOVARANJEM HIBRIDNOG BRODA ZA NORVEŠKO TRŽIŠTE MARIKULTURE

Posredstvom CroNoMar-a, inovativne kompanije osnovane 2009. godine s ciljem identificiranja i stvaranja novih poslovnih mogućnosti kroz zajedničke projekte s norveškim i hrvatskim partnerima, remontno brodogradilište NCP Šibenik nastavilo je višegodišnju uspješnu suradnju s norveškim partnerima započetu još davne 2010. godine, podugovaranjem gradnje novog modela broda – hibridnog aluminijskog katamarana.

Financijska vrijednost nije i jedino značajno obilježje ovog projekta.

LONG TERM SUCCESFUL COOPERATION WITH COMPANY NCP FROM ŠIBENIK IS CONTINUING WITH SIGNING A CONTRACT FOR A HYBRID VESSEL FOR NORWEGIAN AQUACULTURE SECTOR

Through mediation of CroNoMar, an innovative company founded in 2009 with the goal of identifying and creating new business opportunities through joint projects with Norwegian and Croatian partners, NCP shipyard from Šibenik continued its successful cooperation with Norwegian partners started already back in 2010 by subcontracting the construction of a new model of the vessel - a hybrid aluminium catamaran.

Although the basic design was made by the Norwegian company Marin Design AS, the quality, competitiveness, professionalism and experience of Croatian shipbuilders were crucial for the beginning of negotiations for the construction of hybrid vessel in Croatia. In October 2018 a a long negotiating process was finalized and after almost a year as a result of negotiations the first contract for the construction of a new type of working vessel for Norwegian aquaculture sector was signed a -hybrid vessel.

It is an aluminium catamaran of 13,75m length and 8m width with a completely new electrical installation including diesel generators and accumulators, electric propulsion and specific equipment to be operated by an electric drive (crane, thrusters, winch, etc.). Given that Norway has its focus on reduction of emissions of CO2, nitrogen oxides and other carbon substances, this project has been contracted with intention to reduce the emissions of gases used by the Norwegian aquaculture industry as well to reduce the environmental footprint in their production. By developing and building a service-working vessel with hybrid power the use of diesel engines will be reduced by more than 75% on a daily basis. The idea is that the vessel uses a diesel-electric drive in transit from berthing place to a fish farm. When the vessel reaches the location of the fish farm the diesel engines are shut down and the vessel is 100% on the electric drive with zero emission and better working conditions for workers on the deck.

This model of working vessel has significantly higher contracted values than each of total vessels delivered by NCP. The intention of Croatian and Norwegian partners according to the positive expectation is to provide for the Croatian partner a long-lasting production for the Norwegian and other aquaculture markets of this totally new type of vessel.

Financial value is not the only significant value of this project. The fact is also a great satisfaction for all project participants that vessels built at the NCP in Sibenik are achieving international recognition and competitiveness on an extremely demanding world market. Starting from this fact shipyard from Šibenik has been a logical choice for a Norwegian partner when deciding who will build this hybrid vessel.

This project is an excellent example of successful business cooperation between Croatian and Norwegian partners which represents the quality and competitiveness of Croatian shipbuilding in one of the most advanced shipbuilding in the world - in Norway.

The delivery  of this vessel has been planned for late May 2019.
