SETTING AN AGENDA FOR SMART, SUSTAINABLE AND INCLUSIVE GROWTH FROM THE ADRIATIC AND IONIAN SEAS
Communication of the European Commission on „A Maritime Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Seas“ has pointed out several topics as a relevant field for future strategies:
- - Maximising the potential of the blue economy
- - Maritime workforces and clusters
- - Maritime transport
- - Islands connectivity and sustainable development
- - Maritime tourism
- - Maritime Spatial Planning, Integrated Coastal Zone Management and land-base pollution
- - Safer, cleaner and more secure maritime space
- - Sustainable and responsible fisheries
As a part of future development, skills, research, development and innovation, maritime clusters, smart infrastructure and qualified and mobile workforce are needed. CroNoMars director, Mr Malvin Villabo, has presented successful model of existing maritime clusters in Norway giving overview on general cluster characteristics, important perspective and potential development programs enabling participants discussion on experience from Norway and possibility of implementation such experience in the Adriatic and Ionian region in particular with emphasis on what can be done to improve present situation.
