CroNoMar has two main concerns; identify new business ideas that can be brought into new products, services or business models, identify supporting networks that can assist in development of new businesses in Croatia.
In order to identify and to stimulate relevant topics for new business development, CroNoMar has paid substantial effort to stimulate cooperation with existing business societies, companies, R&D-institutions/ universities and individual. In this perspective the focus has been on both topics and the individuals behind.
These initiatives have been conducted via seminars and meetings. CroNoMar has given several speeches at seminars, arranged recruitment events towards students/professors at universities/high schools, and had individual meetings. At latest on December 1st such seminar was arranged at Faculty for Naval Architecture and Mechanical Engineering where both university, R&D institutions and the maritime industry was invited.
In order to identify topics for commercial development and potential improvements of existing sectors of the maritime branch, CroNoMar has carried out several feasibility studies in 2009: Maritime Equipment industry, Maritime Crewing, Fishery and Aquaculture, Leisure boat industry, and Coastal Zone Monitoring and Management.
The Seminar in Zagreb on December 2nd is oriented towards public sector like Ministries, Municipalities, Counties, , Chamber of Economy, Companies and Technology and Science Parks. The main purpose is to inform about the activity so far, and to invite these types of partners into supporting networks that are needed for development of new businesses. Hopefully CroNoMar and iNavis find partners in such a seminar that are willing and interested to support both the activities, and foremost, to support the new business activities created in Croatia.
New business activities need support regarding networks and experience, as well as financial support.
The program for the Marine and Maritime Business Development seminar is as follows:
